ISOLATION AND NODULATION TEST OF Rhizobium sp. FROM Pueraria javanica (Benth.) Benth. AND LIABILITY TEST ON THE CARRIER MEDIUM OF PEAT AND COMPOST FROM PALM OIL PALM EMPTY FRUITS

Isolation and Nodulation Rhizobium sp. from Pueraria javanica (Benth.) Benth. Study of Its Survival on Peat Soil Compost Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch was done March to July 2008, in the Laboratory Plant Biotechnology Indonesian Research Institute (IOPRI) Marihat Station Pematang Siantar, Microbiology, Department Biology, FMIPA USU. The sampel nodules were taken roots growing oil palm plantation at Sei Aek Pancur, Marihat, University North Sumatera. Ten isolates isolated all them could form root nodule after 8 weeks inoculation a nodulation trial. Another trial conducted study survival 2 different types media: peat soil compost empty fruit bunch. It found that survive both media during 4 observation. Statistically, had more stable viability compost.
